Shabbat & Holidays @ Hillel
Shabbat
A staple of UConn Hillel's programming is our weekly Shabbat
celebrations, in addition to those of all Jewish holidays.
Shabbat is a time for family - and a time to take a break from the rest of the week. Dinner is FREE to all in attendance.
Everyone is welcome to join our Hillel family anytime.
On Friday nights we begin at 6pm with student led Shabbat service. Our typical service is an egalitarian reform-style service completed with guitars! We often vary our service to have a more observant service.

We hold a community Shabbat dinner, catered by NOSH Kosher Kitchen in the Gelfenbien Commons Dining Hall, in our Multipurpose Room, which serves anywhere from 40-80 students on a weekly basis. After dinner, we encourage students to stay and hang out with their friends, from dessert and table conversations to playing pool or board games in our one-of-a-kind basement lounge!

We have specialized Havdalah events throughout the semester, including karaoke and movie nights.
